Looking for a new project? Woolbearers has some new classes coming up and 2 new KAL's. You may have already heard about Jared Flood's new pattern "Rock Island Shawl" It's knit out of Lorna's Laces Helens Lace and as soon as the pattern is published we will begin our KAL. Come join the party!
We will also be doing a KAL for EZ's Gansey pattern #15. Lots of new techniques and everyone can make it their own -- so many patterns to play with. We'll also be watching Beth Brown-Reinsel's DVD on knitting Ganseys during the KAL. Check our website for more details.
The Wrap Me Up Shawl has been a big hit. Now Chris de Longpre has made a scarf version of the pattern. We're doing another class for this scarf/shawl. 20 blocks -- each block is a different technique. Here is my scarf version out of Crystal Palace Mini Mochi
Here is project from the Roositud Inlay class we had with Kate and Courtney from The Fibre Company. Laurie just finished weaving in her ends and did a fabulous job. Her daughter can't wait to wear it!
The Kimono class is in full swing. Mary has completed the backs and one front using Berocco Remix. She's using several different patterns on the kimono. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Sandra bought some Lana Grossa Chiara and whipped out this gorgeous sweater in no time. She decided to just use the lace motif throughout the sweater with fabulous results.
Harriet loves to design her own sweaters using Ann Budd's Knitters Handy Book of Sweater Patterns This one is knit out of Manos Silk Blend.
This is "Quonset", a new free pattern from Berocco. I'm not sure that it's out on their website yet, so if you want a copy of the pattern, let me know. The pattern is written for either Weekend Chunky, which is the version I did, or Weekend, which is a worsted weight. Either way, it's a quick knit and a fun pattern.Ah -- The Yarn Tasting was a huge success. I think everyone had a great time, great desserts, wonderful yarn to sample and delicious door prizes.
Some yarn sampling --- Joanna's hearts.
