It's been a while since the last post, which I apologize for; got some emails this week about it!!! I was under the weather, so to speak, and in enough of a fog that anything I wrote would be subject to penalty under the law. When I could, I would sit in repose on the couch in the store, and, being extra careful, just knit. So far, I haven't uncovered too many mistakes. For about a half hour today I tried to stay in the barn, but couldn't lift the buckets, so will wait until tomorrow to try again.

I also had the opportunity to work on the big triangle loom. It's a little too coarse for my tastes; you have to use bulky yarns or weave cheese cloth. We had a demo on Sunday; our good customers Stephanie, who does all the fibery things so far, (except spin) and Barb came out and we watched the Carol Leigh video. It inspired me to try the big loom, so I'm working on that.

The clapotis coming along. It's going to be a great big shawl. A new customer this year, Claude, who just happens to be French, is going to join our knit-a-long Friday. She said the proper pronounceation is clap-o-tee, silent S.

Our new Walnut Bottom needles! They are so cute, and they're smooth and feel nice in the hand.
Gwen's lace sweater of mohair. You have to see it and feel how soft it is!
Detail of sleeve and front.

Clapotis of Colinette Giotto, colorway Frangipani.
Detail.
Starting to drop the first stitch.
Stitched dropped. I have six stitches dropped now and added Isis in the same colorway. Have to take a picture later of it.
Amy and her son on their weekly trip into the store. He has grown about two feet since we opened the store.
Sylvia in her beautiful fabric jacket, trimmed with crochet; yarn from us.
Button detail of jacket.
Martha brought her quilting buddies all the way from Ocean County for a day shopping in Mt. Holly. You'd think the city father's would appreciate all of the business we bring in from outside the town!!
Maria's latest hat, pattern from O-Wool. It's so cute! I love their patterns, too.
Skip and Barb, from Langhorne; she came in to get inspiration for her triangle loom, he for some knitting help. He is an avid crocheter and they both quilt. I hope to see them again soon!
Half of Kelly's Rib Warmer in Woolbearers Wool Boucle Amber Lace
Kitty's Lace Socks of Sea Wool.
Kitty's Entrelac Socks knit of Step.
Detail of Entrelac cuff.
Sydney's beautiful clapotis of Woolbearers Sterling sock yarn. If you look closely, you can see the little pieces of sterling silver shining.

New Stuff for Spring!!!

From Plymouth, Somerset, pima cotton and silk, Bradford, cotton and nylon, and Bristol, worsted weight pima and silk. The Bristol Yarn Collection from Plymouth is in coordinating colors. It's really lovely; come in and squeeze!

From Punta Del Este Yarns, South American Cotton, hand dyed; we are starting with six colors; green, light lilac, red plum, beige, blue shade and bright blue. It's bulky, ten stitches to four inches. It is incredibly soft!

Plus, new colors of Premier Pima Cotton and Tencel, another super soft cotton; and Wool Bamboo, both by Classic Elite, and Euroflax and Gems, from Louet. These old standbyes are still exciting and wonderful to knit with!!!

Rib Warmer Toxicity....or maybe it's just generalized yarn fever; all I know is that now every yarn I see, I think, 'that might make a great rib warmer'. It's the same problem with the Baby Surprise. What a great way to sample every yarn in the store! Fun, quick and interesting to knit, the EZ projects are taking over. Below is a detail of the I cord trim on the rib warmer. It's amazing how fast it works up and what a great edging it makes. I couldn't figure out how it attached to the edge, but Gwen showed me and it is truly easy.
Now that it is finished, I have many, many things to work on, including the Clapotis that I am knitting of Giotto. I LOVE the knitting!!! Just a few more rows and I can begin dropping stitches.
Also, the other rib warmer of Lanamira, and the Baby Boo vest that I really want to finish because I have my eye on another vest. We ordered the pattern and buttons on Friday, which is more food for another post....we found buttons that are so fabulous, oh, I can't wait to get them...and thanks to Jan!!! Love those sales reps!

I got to see Judy today; she usually comes in when
I am off. Her buddy behind her is getting his wallet out...... It was great seeing her!
These gals are knitting students who came in for yarn.....we loved their shoes! The yarn they chose inspired me, too.
Joann, (see her weaving behind April, below) took this yarn,
wove this fabric,
and then sewed this gorgeous vest.
April, drafting her weaving project; the table runner, below. Perfectly woven, not a threading or weaving error. She did a great job! That's Joann behind her....

So I was hungry! Too bad we found out that La Vita's down the hill delivers..... they have the best food and the nicest delivery people.

A typical Saturday means lots of friends stopping in, wonderful projects being shared, and even a dog or two! Isn't he the best!!!! His mom had her foot in a cast, so we let him in.

The Great American Afghan class making lots of progress.

Susan's Baby Surprise with hood...just adorable.

This beautiful blanket is of Mission Falls 1824 Wool.

We love our landlord, and this is his son and girlfriend from Denver, just stopping in to see the store.

Kathe and her quarter rib warmer. She's using Cascade 128. It's going to be great.
The Never Ending Baby Blanket Are you tired of hearing about the darn thing??? We are almost finished with it, but it's legacy lives on in all the techniques we learned. The short rows are handy to know as we knit the rib warmers; will post pictures of that next week. We also learned the provisional cast on and kitchner stitch. This colorful version is of the new colorway in Mission Falls Cotton, knit by Susan. Barb is doing her's in Woolbearers bulky hand dyed Cotton Boucle, Jill's is Royal Bamboo,

Kristen's is PJ's, and Judith's is another, lighter weight Woolbearer's cotton boucle.

Mireye's is lovely in Brand X, but she is going to do one in Woolbearer's Cotton Boucle, too.
Can you say Kelly's Kona Clapotis ten times? She's almost done and it is to die for.

The earth tones Clapotis is Susan's Manos Silk and Wool. It's going to be really lovely.

Joanna's is of Lorna's Laces. It's going to be a knock out, too.
Socks, socks, and more socks. The green, blue and rust stripes are Tola's Kaffe Fassett Regia socks. To be honest, the Kaffe Fassett didn't really do for me until I saw it knitted up. Wow! It's really wonderful. I would like to try it in a form other than socks; something modular, maybe.

The very cool black socks with skull and crossbones are Kelly's creation. The rest are all Tola's; Step, Brown Sheep over dyed, Regia. The collection should be seen. It's beautiful!
